This two-day workshop explores how trauma-sensitive yoga strategies can enhance the resilience and encourage the freedom of movment. When individuals experience of trauma, it can impact their ability to attune to their body's internal messages resulting in lack of self-regulation and feelings of overwhelm. Yoga is shown to empower trauma-survivors by helping them reconnect with these sensations and take effective action in caring for themselves on and off the mat. In this two-day workshop, you'll learn how to notice and navigate a broad range of sensations and foster resilience. You'll experience and develop your own trauma-sensitive yoga sequences, for personal or professional use, integrating the grounding practices from module one with yoga poses taught in a typical class. The focus will be on teaching to sensation versus appearance, as well as, how to anchor the body and joints in safety to encourage rhythm and resilience. This training is suitable for all experience levels and backgrounds. Participation in first course is required.
