Next Level Hands on Teaching: Assisting Workshop
Teachers always ask, "how do I integrate hands-on assists into my teaching?" It is a growing edge for teachers - leading a class while using the tool of hands-on assists to support the students. There are two ways to approach this, first your words and actions must be aligned; second there are times when your hands are your words.
In this workshop, you will learn how to support a student's body with upleveled hands-on assists, to align your verbal cues with assists and to teach without words. Through real-time application, you will gain confidence in your teaching to connect your verbal cues with hands-on assists.
You will gain insight on the following:
- Learn what assisting is and what it is not.
- Body Reading - Gain insight on how to identify alignment imbalances
- Overview of the defining target areas of postures
- Foundations of the 6 Myofascial Groups of the body
- Learn energic, functional alignment, directional, and stabilizing assists.
- Understand how to assist all spinal movements
- Hands on assist for seated/standing postures, twists, binds and more.
Real-time Practice:
- Teaching and Assisting Exercises
Must be 200 Hour Certified Teacher to attend.

Date/Time: December 5-6th; Saturday & Sunday 12:00-5:30pm
Cost: $399; Earlybird $349, must be paid by Friday November 6th
Our lymph system takes out the trash, helps defend against invaders, balances our fluids, and nourishes our entire system. It supports our digestive, circulatory, and immune system. So what exactly is it?
Join Richard for a weekend dive into our lymphatic system and its important role in our health and well-being. Through discussion, slides and experiential practice, we'll explore the anatomy and purpose of our lymphatic system, how lymph moves, and five distinct techniques that encourage lymphatic flow.
These techniques are a comprehensive journey through movement and attention, and include breathwork, vinyasa, self-massage, and practices that mobilize and "wring out" connective tissue.
This workshop is accessible to all levels of ability and invites curiousity, attention, and nuance. Everyone will benefit from this immersion. You'll leave with practical tools and techniques for your own practice, with an understanding of our fluid systems and a sense of how integrated our living body is.
You do not have to be a yoga teacher to attend. If you are a member of Yoga Alliance, you will receive 10 CEUs.
Please wear clothes you are able to move and relax in. Bring a yoga mat, journal, pen, light snacks and hydration.
