Define Simply Power Yoga "The Simply Power Yoga community has been a place that has always felt welcoming, trustworthy, and genuine to me. From my very first class with Juli, practicing at SPY has never been about achievement or competition, but about growth, peace and a natural dopamine boost."

Favorite Pose "My absolute favorite pose is Child’s Pose, which never seems long enough for me, but it wasn’t always that way. When I was new to yoga my feet would cramp or fall asleep, my knees would feel uncomfortable and I would fidget. It took time and adjustments for it to become the soothing home base it is now. I understand why it may not be accessible or preferred for some and just want them to know they have options and it’s ok if it’s not for them. Another great pose is Supported Fish, laying on my back with blocks or a bolster pillow between the shoulder blades and supporting the head. It’s such a wonderful heart opener and a way to counteract those desk, computer or phone aches and pains in the shoulders and neck."

About Me "I’ve practiced yoga off and on since college and started coming to SPY in 2014. My first class was the day I put my youngest child on the school bus for kindergarten. I worked several years as an ER nurse with adults and children before I “retired” to raise my family. After witnessing friends become certified yoga teachers I finally decided to go through teacher training myself in 2023. I love how different my second career is from the high intensity hospital environment and embrace the calming benefits of yoga. I love learning more about how yoga can support and improve a healthy lifestyle and connecting yoga with my training as a registered nurse."
